Recentlydecommissioned and purchased for the Port
Huron Museum. The Bramble was launched in October of
1943. In 1975 the Bramble reported to Port Huron.
The Bramble has been part of our community and will
stay on as a museum. The Bramble now moored in the
newly renovated port is open for tours telling of
past history of her travels all over the world.
Michigan's oldest working lighthouse. The lighthouse
was built, in 1814, by Lucius Lyon, one of
Michigan's two first U.S. Senators. Today, the
lighthouse is completely automated, with a range of
16 miles, and flashes for one-half second for every
15 seconds. After more than 170 years since the
first light was exhibited at Fort Gratiot a silent
sentinel still beams out to guide a new generation
of mariners. In 1971 the Michigan Historical
Commission named Fort Gratiot Lighthouse a
Historical Site.

The recent poor economic conditions have changed
the landscape for where people would consider investing their money
to receive secure, continuous, and profitable returns on their
investment dollars.
Traditional investment opportunities look bleak
1. Real Estate has declined rapidly and is still in
the downtrend.
2. The Stock Markets have all taken downward hits
and are still very volatile and iffy.
3. The Commodities Markets have all risen to record
highs and might still have some ways to go, but the risk reward for
additional investments looks shaky.
4. Interest Bearing Accounts yield very low rates
that are approaching levels below inflation.
